Happy Even After
Synopsis of the book by Pat Edmiston and David Waite
A personal story of trauma, hope and tackling problems God's way.
Pat Edmiston married her husband when they were young and penniless. But together
they discovered the secret of giving to God's work and subsequently their own fortune
grew into hundreds of millions. Then suddenly, after 30 years of marriage, Bob left,
leaving Pat confused and desolate. She could find strength in God alone. Pat gives
an honest account of how she tackled the trauma of divorce by taking hold of God's
word, believing that his promises would see her through. Hers is not a book about
personalities but about principles -
Pat's story starts when she was at her lowest point, when she felt God assuring her
of his love and his plans for her. She tells how she has come to a peace and contentment
that she never thought possible, and how her organization, the Release Foundation,
is starting to change people from all walks of life as they attend courses on the
Christian life and learn to share their faith with others. She also tells how the
one million pound yacht "Genevieve" is engaged in similar work in the Mediterranean.
Interspersed with this moving account are Biblical principles that will help the
reader cope with problems that face all humanity. These principles help to: recognize
the subtle way in which Satan divides Christian against Christian, and husband against
wife; the need to fight against principalities and powers of darkness; when to confront
and when to keep quiet; understanding the principles of giving -
